You probably remember (because I talk about it all the time) that I am a religious bullet journal user. I did a post a few months ago (OMG have I really been blogging for that long???) about how I use my bullet journal and what layouts I’m using and how I tried a few different layouts before finding one I stuck with for a while.
Well a few weeks ago I was perusing Pinterest and found a new weekly layout that I wanted to try out. So I set up the next two weeks in my bullet journal using this new layout and now I’ve officially converted. This new weekly layout is more compact, so it might not work if your days are jam packed, but it works perfectly for me right now because things are a bit slow at work so I don’t have many work assignments to track.
It’s the same basic idea as my previous layout, but you fit the entire week onto one page instead of two. I really like this idea because it allows me to easily look ahead to the next week (especially the second day of the weekend) without flipping pages. I also feel like I’m not wasting pages since there isn’t a lot of empty space left over, but that’s just a weird personal thing I have.
As of right now my monthly page looks pretty similar to previous months because I’ve found that no matter what new monthly spread I try out I always come back to this one. I still list my goals for the month on this page–I’ll do an update soon on how my yearly goals are shaping up–and I’ve added in big events just so I don’t forget them! This is also where I’ve been doodling a bit during conference calls and pretending like I’m a tiny artist.
The other new thing that I’ve been doing in my bullet journal is planning out blog content! I know that the ~influencers~ plan out their content with schedule and calendars and thought I would give it a shot. Turns out they’re all doing it for a reason–it’s so much easier to sit down one day and plan out the month’s posts instead of sitting down to write in the morning and trying to come up with an idea on the spot. Now, I don’t write my posts all on one day. In fact, I usually write my posts right before posting them unless I know I’m going to be super busy (like when I was in New York), then I’ll write them ahead of time and post them when I’m ready. I also haven’t 100% stuck to the content schedule I laid out–if there’s something that I really want to write about or share with y’all I’m just going to do it when it comes up–but it’s been helpful to have a list to be able to pull from. Plus having a content calendar makes me feel very official and put together!
I’m still filling out my May content calendar (there are a few blank spaces), so let me know what you want to hear about!
xoxo,
J
