This roundup is a mix of articles and gift guide that I think are actually helpful. Just in case you’re a last minute holiday shopper like I am.
Interview with Chanel Miller
If you don’t already know, Chanel Miller is the Jane Doe who was assaulted by Brock Turner in a hugely publicized case a few years ago. Miller recently came forward and named herself and wrote the book Know My Name (which is on my holds list at the library and I can’t wait to read it, I’ve read amazing reviews). Girl’s Night In interviewed her about her book and writing process and healing process. It doesn’t dive too deep into trauma, but a general trigger warning for sexual assault on this one.
Girls’ Night In Gift Guide
WOW WOW WOW. This gift guide is amazing. If you’re looking for a present to buy me I will happily accept anything in this gift guide. They’ve created different categories of gifts like “Gifts for Your Foodie Friends Who Watch All The Bon Appetit Test Kitchen Videos” and “Gifts for Your Most Bookish Friend.” Needless to say, I fit into basically all their categories.
Libby Living Colorfully’s DC Thrift & Antique Reccos
So this one is much more DC-specific, but it’s the perfect guide to DC area thrift shops and antique stores if you’re looking for a unique present for a loved one or something for yourself. I love Libby’s blog and Instagram (I have a major friend crush on her for real) and she’s excellent at thrift and antiquing so I trust her recommendations.
New York Times Reviews Netflix Holiday Movies
If you’re like me and you love holiday movies and you think the sillier and more predictable the better, then you’ll enjoy Netflix’s new holiday movies. The New York Times helpfully listed and ranked them here, but I think we’ll all just have to watch them all to decide for ourselves.
What are you reading? Any gift guide you’re loving?
xoxo,
J
