If you know me, or if you follow me on any type of social media, you know that I’m ~obsessed~ with face masks, particularly sheet masks.
Face masks are a great way to self care in what I think is the truest sense of the term. Using a face mask is great for your skin–different masks can help with redness, acne, dryness, uneven skin, or just make you feel luxurious–but they also force you to slow down and relax and not really do anything for 10-30 minutes. I usually do a face mask while watching a favorite Netflix show or lying on my bed listening to music. Wine is sometimes (often) involved.
Sheet masks are in some ways the ultimate easy face masks. Most of them don’t require you to wash your face after applying them so there’s no getting water all over your counter and yourself. Most sheet masks also have a cutout for your eyes, nose, and mouth so you can definitely still drink wine (or whatever your beverage of choice is) without feeling your face mask crack or stretch. They also give you the opportunity to have a silly animal face or gold foil or any print you can think of on your face. Basically, I really love sheet masks.
FaceTory
Some time during last spring I discovered FaceTory. FaceTory is a Korean sheet mask subscription box and it’s the only subscription box I have ever used. I’m weirdly suspicious of subscription boxes but I love, love, love this one. I have the LUX box so they send me 7 luxury sheet masks every month for pretty cheap and they’re amazing. I’ve loved every mask they’ve sent me, as has the fiance. (Here’s my personal referral link if you want to try it and want some free sheet masks).
Some Pro-Tips for Sheet Masks:
- If it’s hot outside you can chill your sheet masks in the fridge to make them refreshing
- Be sure to wash and tone your face before using a sheet mask. Don’t put that mask on a dirty face (and remember to take off your eye makeup, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve forgotten to take off my mascara and then had it smear down my face).
- You can use the extra essence that’s left in the package on your chest, neck, arms, wherever…or you can stick it in the fridge to use another day.
- Don’t leave the sheet mask on for longer than the package recommends. You want all the essence in the mask to absorb into your skin, if you leave it on longer than recommended the essence will start to go back into the mask, which… defeats the purpose.
- Pat or massage the extra essence into your skin after you’ve taken the sheet mask off (unless the package tells you otherwise, don’t wash it off).
If it wasn’t clear by now I am truly obsessed with face masks so feel free to drop any questions you have in the comments and look for more face mask posts coming soon!

Ok but I had never thought to refridgerate the masks before using them, genius!

I've read that you can also warm them up by putting them (still in the package) in warm water for the winter, but I haven't tried that yet so can't vouch for it!

Oooh I’m not sure if I’d like that as much as a cool mask tbh. Although it’d probably open the pores more
