I’ve mentioned before that one of my goals for 2019 is to read 100 books. Last year I set a goal of 52 books (one for every week in the year) and actually managed to read 77! I’m definitely doing well on working towards my goal for this year–thanks largely to the DC Public Library and to the amount of free time I have right now.
I also listened to an audiobook all the way through for the very first time and I must say, it was highly enjoyable, especially because I played it through the bluetooth speaker I have and listened while I cleaned my apartment and did some other tasks. Listening to an audiobook is definitely harder for me than reading because it’s easy to let my mind wander and then realize I haven’t actually been digesting the content of the book. But I listened to Hunger by Roxane Gay and that just grabbed me in so I didn’t have to worry about my wandering mind.
Here are the books I’ve read so far in 2019 (lucky for all of us, I’ve been writing down the authors this time):
- Run by Ann Patchett
- Nine Perfect Strangers by Liane Moriarty
- Dark Matter by Blake Crouch
- Campaign Widows by Aimee Agresti
- The Man in the High Castle by Philip K. Dick
- Dumplin’ by Julie Murphy
- The Hypnotist’s Love Story by Liane Moriarty
- Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan
- Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan
- Percy Jackson and the Titan’s Curse by Rick Riordan
- A Spark of Light by Jodi Picoult
- The Other Woman by Sandie Jones
- P.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han
- The Woman in the Window by A.J. Finn
- Lethal White by Robert Galbraith (JK Rowling)
- A Simple Favor by Darcey Bell
- An Anonymous Girl by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen
- Hunger by Roxane Gay
I still have a stack of physical books about 8 high that I have on my to-read list, as well as three ebooks currently downloaded and many more on hold. I should really stop putting library books on hold until I work my way through the stack sitting on my counter, but we all know I can’t help myself.
Any suggestions on books to add to make it to 100 this year would be greatly appreciated! And as always, you can follow my Instagram stories to see what I’m reading as it happens (big thrill, I know), as well as to check my highlights to see the covers of all the books I’ve read.

I’m not sure how into romantic books you are, but I just read The Kiss Quotient and it’s so cute! A fun twist on Pretty Woman and it features an autistic woman written by an autistic woman!
