This weekend was beautiful and warm and made me want it to be spring RIGHT NOW instead of in a few weeks but I was able to take advantage of the nice weather by drinking at some rooftop bars and patios. It made me realize that it’s almost sangria season and that I have hands down the best (cheap and easy) sangria recipe that literally everyone who has had it loves.
Ingredients
Recipe
- Find a giant pitcher or drink dispenser (apparently that’s what those big containers with the taps on them are called, who knew?!)
- Fill about 2/3 with the red wine and the rest with Fresca. Add in the berries.
- That’s it. That’s the recipe.
One of Brandon’s former coworkers shared this recipe with me with the endorsement that it costs less than $30 to make a huge batch and no one has ever realized they’re drinking boxed wine and Fresca. When I told her that I made it for a party and added frozen fruit instead of ice cubes, she laughed and told me that I was getting too fancy for her! I think my favorite thing about this recipe is that I can buy everything at the DC grocery store and not have to make an extra stop at a liquor store to get brandy since the Fresca adds that needed sweetness as well as the bubbles.
