Y’all know I LOVE rosé. Some people think it’s only for the spring and summer but I drink it year round. It’s delicious, you can get a good bottle for pretty cheap, and (of course) it’s pink. But sometimes I like to mix it up a bit and use rosé to make a cocktail, especially in the summertime when it’s so hot outside and maybe a glass of wine just isn’t going to cut it. This is my favorite one.
Ingredients
Recipe
- Muddle the lemon and grapefruit wedges in a cocktail mixer (this just means smush it up a bit).
- Pour in the ice, rosé, and gin and stir.
- Add simple syrup–as much as you want. Shake it up. (Remember to cap your mixer, I’ve made this mistake before.)
- Strain into a wine glass and add in the muddled citrus.
- Garnish with an extra citrus wedge on the rim if you want to be fancy.
I’ve made this cocktail a number of times and it’s always a hit. I think the flavor or the gin is balanced surprisingly well with the citrus and you can’t go wrong with the rosé. I tend to use a rosé that’s on the drier side instead of the sweet side, but that’s just because I don’t love sweet drinks.
I know this recipe, along with the easy sangria, will be on repeat this summer.
