One of the first activities I did in DC (even before I lived here) was go to a Nationals game. I used to drive down to DC from Pennsylvania at least once a month to visit and explore (and to look for apartments) and a few times that involved going to a Nats game. I’m not a huge baseball fan–like if it’s on TV I’m probably not going to watch it and I honestly couldn’t tell you which teams are good and bad–but I really enjoy going to baseball games.
It’s so much fun to spend an afternoon (or an evening if it’s deep in the summer and it’s sweltering hot in the daytime) at the ballpark sitting outside and drinking beer and eating hot dogs and cheering. I’d much rather watch a sporting event live than watch on TV, and to make things even better, Nats park has so many fun themed game days to get tickets to. And bonus: most of them cost the same as a regular ticket!
Last summer I went to the Rosé All Gameday game that was super fun. The tickets were in a shockingly great spot and we got access to the rosé garden along with cans of rosé! Obviously this was my ideal game day experience.
Nats park also does a Pups in the Park event every month or so, and it’s one of my goals to get Scout trained well enough that she can come to the ballpark with us. Apparently puppies get their own seats at Pups in the Park! Is that not the cutest thing you’ve heard today?
Over Memorial Day Weekend we got the chance to get super fancy at the game. We got tickets to suite seating through Brandon’s work and let me tell you, air conditioning at a baseball game is truly a game changer! I’d never been in a suite (because let’s be honest, I’m not nearly as bougie as I pretend to be!), and it was a lot of fun and made me feel very spoiled. My favorite part–aside from the AC–was not having to leave to get snacks or drinks.
I’m sure this summer will be filled with many more baseball games and maybe even a repeat rosé gameday!
xoxo,
J

Rosé Game Day and Pups in the Park sound ideal! I'm imagining Scout sitting there with her ears poking out of a baseball hat and am dying from how cute it is
