In case you missed it, Megan Thee Stallion declared this summer “Hot Girl Summer” after she released a song of the same name. Hot girl summer is all about being yourself, embracing yourself fully, and just generally living your truth as the hot girl (person) you are. Obviously I’m fully on board with this message, and intend to embrace it even more headed into autumn.
Yesterday I went to a theme ride at Cyclebar taught by my favorite instructor (hi, Gabby!) that was a Hot Girl Fall ride! (Please note that Megan Thee Stallion has also endorsed Hot Girl Fall so we’re good to go.) It was an excellent way to kick off my fall season–especially since the weather really only started to turn today! Here are some ways I plan on embracing the autumn season and living my best life during Hot Girl Fall:
- Unapologetically drinking pumpkin spice lattes (and pumpkin spice cold brews, yum!) and reading this Vox piece explaining the rise and fall of the PSL and why you should care.
- Attending at least 4 Cyclebar classes a week. When the weather starts to cool off all I want to do it stay inside and snuggle with warm drinks and fuzzy blankets, so I’m going to make a conscious effort to stick with my workout routine.
- Face mask twice a week. The humidity is starting to leave (YAY!) but that means the dry weather can start to take a toll on my skin. Gotta make sure to stay moisturized and take care of my skin with some sheet masks.
- Try a new soup recipe! I absolutely love making soup. It usually isn’t that difficult but it feels like such a cool adult thing to do. Especially if you make your own broth–not super easy but super rewarding. Plus it makes the house smell great while it cooks.
- Visit an apple orchard/apple festival/pumpkin patch. Yes, I am a girl who loves fall festivals and orchards. Maybe it’s because I’m a basic bitch, but I choose to believe it’s because I grew up near Apple Hill so orchards remind me of home. And it allows me to fulfill my next goal which is…
- Bake apple and pumpkin treats! These recipes are some of my favorites so I’m extra excited about this!
- Make mulled wine and mulled cider. Pop this in a crock pot and your entire home will instantly smell like a fall candle.
- Host a Halloween themed wine club! I have a love-hate relationship with Halloween, so hosting a gently themed wine club seemed like the perfect solution.
- Attend my first GNI Lounge book club! My favorite online community (Girl’s Night In) just soft launched their new IRL community in DC–The Lounge! I’m super excited to be a part of this new community and to meet new women in DC who are passionate about self care!
Okay now that I wrote them all out it seems like a lot, but I’m pretty sure they’re all doable. And everything on this list is here to help me embrace Hot Girl Fall in the truest sense–a little bit of beauty, a little bit of fitness, a lot of soul care. Hope y’all have a great spooky szn!
