Maybe it’s because I have so much more time to think about things since we’re all staying home, but lately I’ve been thinking about what my long-term goals are. If you’ve been here for a while you know that I like writing monthly and yearly goals in my bullet journal. These goals range from reading 100 books in a year to finding a workout routine I enjoy to learning new recipes. And they usually have a timeline attached to them, i.e. I want to do this in the year or in the month. But the long term goal list I’ve been thinking about is more a list of things that I want to do ~eventually~ with no date attached.
- Buy a house. One that has a yard for Scout.
- Pay off my student loans (this is a big lift, not going to lie)
- Get LASIK eye surgery
- Move back to California
- Travel outside of the country
- Continue hosting monthly wine clubs, and turn them into dinner clubs when I have a space that allows
Being inside our small DC apartment for almost two months has made it very clear to me that having a house with a yard is something that I really do want. And that I would love to have more space to host my friends and family when we’re all allowed to share space again. Thinking about this is what spurred me to consider what else I envision when I picture the future.
Obviously this list is not exhaustive, and I’m allowing myself to add to it whenever I think of something else that I need to write down, but there’s something that feels good about committing my thoughts down into a list of goals. Have you all been thinking about the future lately? What are some of your goals?
