I’m over halfway to my 2020 reading goal! One if the benefits of constantly being at home is that I have more time to read, which I’m thoroughly enjoying. Here are the books that I read in May (and June, so far):
Note: The last three are in a series, but I read them out of order. The Wedding Date should be first, then The Proposal and The Wedding Party. I just wanted to read them so badly and that’s the order they were available from the library so…
And to mix things up, I thought I’d share what books I’m currently reading (it’s a lot of books, I’m just warning you) and the books I have on my holds/to-be-read list.
- Thick: And Other Essays – Tressie McMillan Cottom
- Uncanny Valley: A Memoir – Anna Wiener
- The End of Roe v Wade: Inside the Right’s Plan to Destroy Legal Abortion – Robin Marty and Jessica Mason Pieklo
- Little Women – Louisa May Alcott (I’ve been “reading” this book for like four months so)
- White Fragility: Why It’s so Hard for White People to talk about Racism – Robin DiAngelo (full disclosure–and at the risk of sounding like an asshole–this is more of an intro-level book than I needed, but people were talking about the book and I was curious. If you’re looking for a way to start thinking/talking about race and you like more academic books this is a good place to start)
- The Art of Showing Up – Rachel Wilkerson Miller
- Catch and Kill – Ronan Farrow
- Know My Name – Chanel Miller
- The Mask Collectors – Ruvanee Pietersz Vilhauer
- Conversations with RBG – Jeffrey Rosen
- Forever, Interrupted – Taylor Jenkins Reid
- One True Loves – Taylor Jenkins Reid
- The Other Mrs. – Mary Kubica
- We Are Never Meeting in Real Life – Samantha Irby
- One of Us is Next – Karen M. McManus
- All Adults Here – Emma Straub
- Valentine – Elizabeth Wetmore
- A Woman is No Man – Etaf Rum
- Meaty – Samantha Irby
- Royal Holiday – Jasmine Guillory
- Ninth House – Leigh Bardugo
- Long Bright River – Liz Moore
- Clap When You Land – Elizabeth Acevedo
- The Daughters of Erietown – Connie Schultz
As you can see, I have a lot more reading to get to. Are there any books that I’m missing on my list that are must-reads? Please let me know, you all know I can’t resist a good book.
