Hello!
Happy New Year!
Hope you are all safe and healthy and taking care of yourselves (especially your mental health during this pandemic and racist insurrection).
Hopping back into this blog with an exciting announcement: I’m moving! Before we all get too excited–I’m staying in DC. After four years in my current apartment (one marriage, two degrees, and one puppy later), B and I need a bigger place. Especially since we’re both working from home for the foreseeable future. So, we’re moving!
Our new place is in the same neighborhood that we know and love, just about a mile south. So I’ll still be in Eckington/NoMa in DC (for those of you who know what that means). I’m very excited to have more space, to not be in an apartment building, and to have a little bit of outdoor space for us and the pup.
I’m also extremely excited to decorate, furnish, and style this new space. We’re going to be moving a bit slow on this front due to our real-person-no-generational-wealth-or-blogger-money budget, but I thought it would be fun to share some pieces that we bought and some pieces that we already have that are coming to the new place with us! I’ll share pictures once we’re actually in the new space but to start you all off, I’m just going to link some inspo.
Tyler Calder from Girls Night In inspired me to create two Pinterest boards. One with general design/aesthetic inspo, and one with pieces that I have or are purchasing for the new space. So here is my dream inspo Pinterest board, and here is my board for my new apartment.
I’m also drawing inspiration from a few of my favorite Instagram accounts/people/bloggers, so I’m going to share them here as well!
Libby Living Colorfully. I mean, of course.
Shannon Claire. It’s my eventual dream/goal to be able to hire her to bring my rainbow visions to life, but for now I’m going to attempt it on my own.
This House 5000. The taste. The DIYs. The vases.
Dommdotcom. She’s AMAZING at design and decorating and DIYing.
Janea Brown. She just moved into a new place and is decorating too. Plus she shares the best kitchen gadget reviews.
That’s all for now, but my goal is to actually keep y’all updated here!
xoxo,
J
