I’ve been thinking a lot about style lately. I don’t know if it’s the fact that I’ve been wearing what would charitably called athleisure for about a year now (thanks COVID), or if it’s just the yearly winter outfit rut hitting me, but whatever the case it’s been on my mind. Two years ago I wrote a post about my signature outfit–a dress and sneakers. And while that still very much feels like me, I’ve had less occasions to wear dresses recently. Part of that is because I rarely leave the house, but another part is that my personal style has been evolving. Don’t get me wrong, you will absolutely still see me in dresses (usually paired with some type of sneaker for sure), but I’ve also discovered a second signature outfit that feels very me.
My new (second) signature outfit is (drumroll please) jeans (or legging LBR) and an oversized button up. It’s like 90% because I found these gorgeous button ups from AYR and I’ve fallen in love with them and I never want to wear anything else. And y’all, Oprah wears these so you know they’re legit. That combined with the fact that in 2019 I realized that my unintentional style icon is Frances from Under the Tuscan Sun. Think about it. Linen outfits, gorgeous bright colored dresses, lots of oversized button ups. Plus she has that gorgeous house in Italy and cooks and writes all day. Seriously goals.
So with that in mind, I’ve decided to really lean in to these style choices. Once the weather heats up here in DC expect to see me in a lot of dresses once more, but also in lots of oversized button ups. In the meantime, catch me hitting refresh on the AYR website waiting for the Mac and Cheese colored one to be available.
xoxo,
J
