I’ve avoided writing this post for a while, mostly because I can still see my 2020 goals laughing at me from the other side of the pandemic. But then I figured–goals are always good. Even if we don’t achieve them 100% or meet them every time. They’re good things to have in the back of my mind to motivate me. So this year I’m thinking of them more like intentions rather than a checklist.
To start with, my three words for the year are:
Strength
Balance
Ritual
So with these words in mind, my goals/intentions for 2021 are:
- Practice my morning and evening rituals
- Move my body 3-4 times a week
- Read 100 (or 120) books
- (Finally) learn to make pasta by hand
- Decorate my new apartment and make it into a home
- Meet my savings goal
- Learn about investments
- Cut down on food waste and eat more vegetarian meals
Compared to other years this list feels smaller and maybe more attainable. Especially since I’m not trying to make any concrete plans that involve travel. At least not yet. This year I’m trying to focus on things that make me feel good.
Do you have any goals for this year? (We can pretend it’s January when I ask this question if you want, but I think there’s never a bad time to set intentions.)
xoxo,
J
