HELLO FRIENDS! Your girl is vaccinated and READY TO TRAVEL! After a long year and a half of not going anywhere (and not being able to see my family), I am beyond excited to get back on a plane and get back to the West Coast very soon. In that spirit, I’m sharing my travel essentials. Pre-pandemic B and I traveled a lot (for work and for fun) so I have a not-insignificant list of must have items that make traveling even better.
The Away Bigger Carry-On. B has had this bag for years, but I just recently ordered one for myself (to upgrade the Target luggage I’ve had since college) and this suitcase is a game-changer. The charger battery is super helpful (especially if you’ve been stuck in a Chicago airport during a layover and there are no outlets at all), but the suitcase itself is great too. You can pack so much into it’s hard case, and it has built in packing cube-like pockets that help keep your stuff organized and squished down. Obviously I have the pink one.
Dagne Dover Landon Carryall. I originally got this bag as my work-to-gym bag because it can fit a work laptop, lunch, a book, water bottle, and a whole change of clothing (including shoes) and it still is cute and professional! But this is also the PERFECT bag to use as your personal item on the plane. It even comes with a sleeve that helps it slide onto the handle of your suitcase. I have the medium size in the color Dune.
Beis Cosmetics Case. Okay first, I’m very aware that this is a HUGE cosmetics case, but I have a lot of skin care products that I need to take with me! I usually keep this in my carry-on bag so it save a bit of space in my suitcase. My secret hot tip is that throughout the year I save little samples from Sephora and other shops and keep them in the cosmetics case so that I already have minis to travel with and don’t have to buy travel size items.
Apothekary Littles. I love Apothekary’s signature blends of herbs and adaptogens and mushrooms, but the little bottles do take up a lot of space when I’m not trying to check a bag. Thankfully, they just introduced the Littles! I have the variety pack and I just know it’ll be perfect for throwing into my carry on to add to my drinks on the road.
Equilibria CBD balm and drops. Because I’m extremely Type A I do tend to get stressed out easily, even when I do enjoy traveling. So throwing these into my bag is a lifesaver. And if you tend to get headaches on planes during takeoff like I do, putting a tiny bit of the balm on your temples seriously makes a headache go away in minutes. (Also I have a referral code if you want to save $20: REFJOSLINSCHULTZ.
And finally some odds and ends:
- Two books (or more if I’m using Libby)
- Airpods
- A sweater for the plane
- Bullet journal and pens
- Extra sheet masks (for after the flight since your skin will dry out)
- Hand lotion
- Hand sanitizer
- Hearthstone Immunity drops (remember to use JOSLIN10 for a discount)
- Chapstick
- Reusable water bottle
I probably missed something since it’s been more than a year since I’ve hopped on a plane, but this is my general packing list.
Do you have something that you absolutely cannot travel without? Something I should be using? Let me know!
xoxo,
J
